Welcome or Numbness

The lie I often hear in my head is “I’ll never get it right”. It doesn’t matter what ‘it ‘ is because the commentary is the same. I then WELCOME!

I have noticed increased energy and willingness to trudge through the work I find challenging when I practice the “Welcoming Prayer”. Avoidance doesn’t grip me and I am gentler with myself and rigorous in the moment rather than succumbing to dread. Once I know I can either accept the moment or run, it becomes easier to choose sinking into the feeling.

The Welcoming prayer is a wonderful practice of being present in the moment and choosing rather than succumbing.

Step 1: Experience the feeling, emotion, thought, commentary in your body. Sink into it or be still with it or allow it and then:

Step 2: Welcome (sacred symbol of your intention to consent to the presence of the Indwelling Spirit) Welcome, Welcome Welcome

Step 3: While continuing to experience and rest in the body sensation, repeat the Letting Go Sentence.

I let go of my desire for security, affection, control. I embrace this moment as it is. Welcome

Repeat as often as needed and Watch what occurs for you.
